DOMINIC NEWSTEAD

CHAPLAIN

Dominic joined us at St. Paul’s in July 2020, with 25 years experience of leading churches both in mainland Europe and England. Dominic has a heart for mission, having previously served on the Council of ICS our mission society patron. He is both English and French.

Dominic studied chemical engineering, and worked as a trainee stockbroker before studying theology at Oxford and ordination. He has led established churches and been involved in church planting, with a particular emphasis on building strong intergenerational churches with strong children's and youth work.

His mission interest has taken him to Rwanda and Burundi on short term assignments, and he continues to take a strong interest in the Great Lakes region of Africa. It has also enabled him to work as a chaplain with INSEAD in Fontainebleau, Eli Lilley in the UK and a number of schools in the UK.

Away from work Dominic loves to spend time with his family in the mountains (skiing or walking) or cooking and sharing good food and wine with friends and neighbours. Sport is really important too, although that is slowly becoming more of a spectator than a participant.
