Monthly Mission Focus

St Paul's has always supported mission both at home and abroad. We have a special focus on a different mission each month

The Protestant Social Centre

Did you know that 30% of those in the Brussels region are living below the official poverty line? These are people living on our doorstep.

The Protestant Social Centre has a mission to help, advise and provide for the poor and needy of Brussels. It does this by way of general social services, mediation of debts, help to refugees, and support to those in prison. The Centre also offers a heavily discounted restaurant and a clothes boutique at significantly reduced prices. Poverty is not the only issue. Isolation and loneliness are major problems too, and a listening ear can be a godsend.

St Paul’s, along with other local churches, has been supporting the Centre for many years. In our giving, we are guided by the words of Jesus:

“I was hungry, and you fed me; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you welcomed me; I was naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you looked after me; I was in prison, and you came to visit me”. (Matthew 25: 35-36)

A Rocha is a global family of conservation organisations working together to live out God’s calling to care for creation and equip others to do likewise. A Rocha projects are frequently cross-cultural in character, and share a community emphasis, with a focus on science and research, practical conservation and environmental education, through residential field study centres, site-based projects and wider advocacy.
St Paul's is working towards becoming an 'eco church'. Several of our young people have done placements with Arocha. You can find out more about their work by clicking here.

Oasis Belgium is a Belgian organization, with Christ at its centre, that helps people who are marginalized and disadvantaged to find community, hope and choice.

We have two projects, one which works with women who have suffered gender-based violence, and the other in the city of Beringen that helps isolated elderly people.

Our aim is always to create community where everyone is included, making a contribution and reaching their God-given potential.
